Are Wusthof or Rada knives better? (cost not a consideration)?

I cook a lot and currently have almost a full set of Rada knives. I really like them. I am getting married in 2 months and while we were registering for gifts I opted not to add any new knives assuming I would continue my Rada collection on my own. Spoke with someone who has been to culinary school and she said Wusthof are the best and that I should get some. Should I? Or are Rada knives just as good or better? THANKS!

  1. It's a matter of preference, you have what you've been using all along, if they are comfortable and you like them there's no need to change now. Myself, I'm a Wustof man
  2. I have a lot of the Rada knives and love them. But it is really a personal preference.
  3. I have several of both. But if I had to choose between the two brands I would go for Wusthof. However, since you say that money is no object, you might want to check out Zwilling J.A. Henckels knives. Which are also made in Solingen, Germany where Wusthof knives are made. My personal favorite everyday knife is a 9-inch Chef's knife from their Four Star Series. I'm not fond of sets because some knives feel better than others when you're using them. I'm very picky about which knife I use for each job. I have an assortment from their different lines which I use regularly. The new Cermax line is really cool but outrageously expensive. Good luck and congratulations.
  4. If cost isn't an issue, go with Shun. Best knives on the market! An example of (one of) their better chefs knives: http://www.shunknives.com/productdetails.php?id=233
