Where can I buy knife sets for culinary students in Sacramento, CA?

I'm about to start an internship, and I have to bring in my own knives everyday. So does anyone know a place where I can get a set of knives and a case to carry them in too (since running around with sharp knives all over the place doesn't seem to be the best idea when it comes to transporting them)?

1. The best thing you can do, is to ask one of the teachers at your school. They will tell you the best place. But you can also try to google culinary knifes. You may have better luck with that. You may find a place near you. You might want to look in the yellow pages under culinary supplies. Good luck. I hope this helped.
2. Try the knife shop at the Florin Rd. Plaza or go down to Garden Hwy. There are 4 restaurant suppliers along the river where you can get knives and cases. You can also pick up knives at the Hobart shop which I think is off of Watts if I remember correctly. United Grocers also carries knives and carriers. Although more expensive the knife shops in the malls will generally give you a larger variety of cases. Knives can be bought any where but trust me on this one! Don't spend a bunch of money on Henkles of Forshner knives They will be stolen from you as soon as you turn away from your case. Stick with the standard white or black handled knives you see in most every restaurants kitchen, They are Dexter Russel. Very good quality and inexpensive.
