What should I do after highschool?

Ok I'm a Senior and will graduate God willing as a pharcy tech in '09 but my real passion is in culinary and the performing arts. I've been thinking about joining the NAVY because my godmother's daughter is in it and she describes it as something great that pays for schooling and she travels the world. I aslo went on the website and they listed opportunities for culinary and music and sounds way too good to be true. So should I join or maybe just go to college? I mean the NAVY sounds pretty tough and I'll admit I am a powderpuff but the benefits sound amazing?

  1. what is ur am and deside u which field u want to go and suggestion i give u doing ca\cas
  2. Put your Hamster in the closet and join the Navy. You'll love it.
  3. Some things to consider: 1. Financial constraints and freedom. People usually join the military, serve the minimum enlisted tour of duty, and receive financial aid through the GI Bill to goto college. If you have the financial means to finish schooling quicker with the help of the United States military, why not? Do not delay your education! 2. Lifestyle. You said you were a "powderpuff;" 4 years in the Navy could be hell for you. And you must fulfill the minimum required years of duty before the military will invest in your education! So, ask yourself this: are you willing to follow orders and have superiors structuring your daily schedules? I have some alternatives: if you need the financial support, consider the National Guard or Reserves. They will invest immediately in your education (they will have benchmarks for you though) and the catch is that after completing graduation, you'll need to serve as a full-time military personnel. Also, there are PLENTY of financial outlets in community colleges and universities that can help fund your education. Try investigating FAFSA, scholarships, internships, and federal loans and grant.
