Is Johnson and Wales a good school for business?
I hear good things about the school and how its a good Culinary school and how emeralled went there and so did bobby flay. But what about business i dont want to go to this school and when i graduate jobs look at where i went and see that i went to a school thats not really for business. I want to major in either accounting or like marketing and travel and do international business. I am a rising senior and want to make the right choice for school. Also i heard that your credits do not transfer so i want to make sure that if this is the right school because i do not want to have to transfer and then not get credit plus lose all of that tution. Please help me out. thanks

- Yes, good one. http://icollege.enacre.net - try this one. It has resume for J&W, tips to apply and how much average grade should you expect, so you can decide would be it best one for you.
- You have to do a little research. Look at USNews or other college rankings. Then compare what you see with your own numbers. JWU is a "least selective" school. That means that many of the students are not the brightest and may not be really serious students. On the other hand, if you are not a top student, then you will fit in. You won't be killing yourself trying to keep up with all the kids who graduated in the top 5% of their high school class. JWU has a very business oriented approach. They encourage kids to do practicums and have jobs outside school. The teachers are used to dealing with kids who are not academic superstars, so they probably teach with some alertness to who their students are. If you match up with the kids there, then you will do well. But if you are a lot brighter or more competitive, then you might want to take a look around and see what other schools might be a better fit. Incidentally, I happen to know that Providence is a fairly nice place to go to school. There are seven universities there, so lots of students, and it is only 50 miles by interstate to Boston.
