- The most famous is the Cordon Bleu in Paris. There's nothing wrong with the CIA in New York, either. However, recently I've seen newspaper articles indicating that perhaps the best way to become a top chef isn't to go to culinary school, but to just start at the bottom in a real restaurant kitchen and work your way up. Good luck to you whichever way you go.
- If you can get one of the famous European chefs (1 Michelin star and up) to take you as an apprentice, you're bound to learn a lot. Forget about your ego, though.
- Most employers care more about your expirience than your school. If they could choose between a person who's been to culinary school, or a person who has started at the bottom and worked their way up in restaurants, they'd pick the guy that worked his way up. Culinary school will help, but you don't really need to go to the most prestigious, most expensive, most well known school, to become a good chef.
