  1. I went to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, it was about $25,000/year a few years ago. Johnson and Wales in Rhode Island is a good one too.
  2. Le cordon bleu. I know they have some schools in the US(CA,GA etc)but I heard the one in France is really good.Good luck to you! :)
  3. Being a former chef from Canada and with 20+ years in the trade, I would check out the ones in your area, yes, the CIA is a great school along with both campuses of Johnson and Wales, but you have to figure one thing, do you have any background in the trade now and were to you see yourself in 5 years, career wise. I spent the first 12 years of my career in 4 countrys and 4 of the Canadian provinces, it was a great learning experience, as for your career, look at if you want to specialize or be a station chef. Figure on a few years to learn and grow, so with the school you choose, make sure it will give you a good background and help your progress in the trade.
  4. The CIA Culinary Institute of America The French Culinary Institute Johnston and Whales These would be my picks,,, Anything that is listed as an Institute or an Academy is a school that specializes in nothing but the Culinary Arts and associated fields. Other schools are technical or trade schools, although that doesn't make them less. Johnston and Whales is an exceptional program, but is classified as a trade. If your serious about Culinary Arts and want more information, then click on the link I put in my sources box. This site can address almost any question you have regarding Culinary School, Costs, Location, Accreditations, ect. Hope this helps, and keep on cooking:)
