- go for whatever ur interests are in
- you wont make any money in culinary arts. The competition is off the hook and the schools are over crowded resulting in a significantly poorer level of training and secretcy on proprietary recipes. if I had it to do again, i'd become an overhead crane operator
- Just like they taught you in High School. Your first answer is probably the correct one. Another way of looking at this is, find one as a career and one as a hobby. Good luck.
- Honestly there is not a whole lot of money in cooking. Not till later in life when you have alot of expierence. You really have to love it to stay in it. Long hours on your feet, bad pay. But if you love it do it. I have been doing it for 15 years.
- you know what , you might think you want to do culinary arts , and kuddos to you , but you should check out this website - www.princetonreview.com take the carreer test and it helps you alot more then you think it would. i found out that i have so many options aside from what i thought i would enjoy doing. .. good luck
- You should do a thorough research on the career first to ensure that you really like it. Try to contact anyone with the degree and ask his/her experiences and so on. I used to think I like astronomy until I did a research and found out that it isn't really as interesting as I thought. There are some tests to take to know what field you're really interested in. Try asking your school counsellor about it. Or try searching in the internet. There's this one test, I think it's called Stamford test, althought I'm not so sure. Try looking that up. But if you're really sure culinary arts is your thing, you should go for it. But from what you said, you're still unsure. There are a lot of other jobs that allow you to travel- pilot, businessman, lecturer, tv presenter, journalist. Talk to some people and ask their experiences. That should help a lot. Good luck!
- Start out by going to a community college. Go there for 2 years and then you can transfer to a University. After about one year at the Community College, you should and probably will have some type of an idea what you would like to get your degree in. It is wise to research possible careers that interest you. Research the average work hours per week, salary, etc. I recommend you go talk to a course advisor at your local community college and they can give you some ideas and guidance. You want to make sure that what ever career you choose, not only interest you, but that you will be able to live comfortably. Don't get frustrated, give yourself a little bit of time and you will find something you enjoy. I have had many majors that I wanted to study for college. First, I wanted to go into Marketing, then, I switched to Public Relations, then I changed to Journalism, and now I am back to Marketing, as I am going to be starting college in October. A good way to have a chance of a successful future is to go to college. There are plenty of jobs that require traveling, especially in the Business/Finance area. Consulting and Auditing, involves traveling. Any job that involves heavily with customer service/relations like sales, quality, management will require traveling. Also, many travel agents (you get discounts and benefits) and flight attendants travel a lot. CHEFS Average hours per week: 60 Average starting salary: $26,000 Average salary after 5 years: $31,000 Average salary after 10 to 15 years: $59,600
