How much does a person in the Culinary Arts industry make?

I am a senior in High School and i'm working on my I-Search paper. My topic is "Is Culinary Arts the Right Field for Me?", I titled it this because some day I would love to open my own resturant and catering business and I need some help from the experts. 1. Well to be honest a cook can make anywhere from 5.15 at McDonald's to almost limitless for chefs who own their own businesses. Take Emeril Lagasse; owns a few restaurants, has a TV show, own line of cookware and grocery line. Pulls in an estimated 150 million a year.
