How much does a culinary education cost? Can asians set up european cuisine restuarants?
I plan to go to the CIA(Culinary Institute of America) to learn and get a culinary degree and work in restaurants for experience and then set up my own restaurant. How much does a culinary education cost? And, what kind of cuisine can we learn at the CIA? Can an asian set up a italian or english restaurant? Instead of their own race. Are there any good culinary schools in South East Asia? In Singapore?

- It depends on the kind of degree that you get. There are all kinds of schools that offer all kinds of degrees. I'd look up the school to make sure they have a well-known curriculum. There's a bunck of schools that have cooking programs, but they aren't all the same. See if it offers LeCordon Bleu content; that is well-known in the cooking world they say.
- There are various culinary schools in Singapore like SHATEC. Go to this website to search for various culinary courses available in Singapore http://www.singaporeedu.gov.sg If you are interested in going to the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), you should consider Temasek Polytechnic's Diploma in Culinary & Catering Management because students enrolled in the Diploma in Culinary and Catering Management will be co-trained by TP's own international award-winning Chefs as well as chefs from the renowned culinary authority, the CIA. TP has tied up with CIA to allow students to get an associate degree in America in 12 weeks, or a bachelor's degree in one and a half years. It costs $2500 a year for a local to enroll in this 3-year diploma. This course would also provide opportunities for training in entrepreneurship and in running your very own restaurant. Regardless of race, you can start any restaurant you want as long as you can run one well.
