Culinary School Dilema.?
I am planning on attending culinar school and I am in between 3 choices. Johnson and Wales in Denver, Cook Street Culinary in Denver, and Le Cordon Blue in Miramar. They are three different programs. At J&W i would get the most complete education but i would need a huge loan and 4 yrs. At cook street it is the shortest, but most specialized choice, and the cordon blue is where my siter goes. I could live with her, but the school is 1.5 yrs , still enough for a loan and not that top notch. Have an y of you been to culinary school (especially these 3)? How didd you feel about your decision? What do you think the most important thing about culinary school is?

- well I'm only going to a 1 year culinary school, then after I pay pack my loans I can go back to school
- I attended Orlando Culinary Academy in Florida which is a Le Cordon Bleu Certified School and it was only 6months. It was $36,000, but I was recruited and had scholorships so loans were not an issue. I am not familiar with the schools in your area, but I would recommend either the Le C.B. or J&W. I have a few friends who graduated from J&W and speak very highly of it.
- My husband went to the Culinary Institute of America. He has a 2 year degree. I researched many culinary programs myself and, hands down, the CIA is the best. It is expensive, but you will get the best education from the best chefs in the world. Don't mess with any old program. Get the best education you can. Feel free to email me if you want to know more about CIA - we can help you get the contacts. Be fearless and do it right.
